Abstract/Description: This volume contains biographical information about Magda Chunovic Fried (February 14, 1929-November 4, 1985), including photographs, letters, a dinner menu, identity documents, passports, travel documents, citizenship documents, news articles, cards, and other documents. Most of the documents are original and a few are reproductions. This volume begins with a police document from Prague, Czechoslovakia, 1945, verifying her identity, then continues with passports documenting her travels through Europe. Several early documents and letters are in Czech. The majority of the documents are in English. Some of the correspondence contained in this volume is addressed to Sam Fried. Much of the material relates to speaking engagements where Magda Fried presented, both with and without her husband, along with press coverage of these events. Also included are documents relating to awards given to her, as well as a certificate about a Pioneer Women/Na'amat scholarship in her honor. Posthumous articles about her life are included. The last part of this volume is "Magda Fried's Note Book," which is her memoir and philosophical musings. 2-inch-thick expanding two-post binder with black fabric cover and title page created by Sam Fried. Each item within is encapsulated in an 8.5" x 11" plastic sleeve.
